The dog was created specially for children. He is the god of frolic. ~Henry Ward Beecher
And bulldogs were definitely created for boys. They have a cuteness that isn’t sweet and pretty like spaniel puppies, or like kittens. Their funny deformed faces hold so much expression; it’s hard not to giggle when you see them! Despite his gloomy mug, the bulldog is one of the most amiable of all breeds. Bulldogs are comical and entertaining, but they are not pushovers and their stubbornness is legendary. Bulldog’s tenacity and resolve mean that it's difficult to change his mind once he decides to do something.
Sounds like someone you know, huh? Are they small versions of our boys? Not the slobbering and snoring part, naturally but the mix of sweetness, love for clowning around and resolute stubbornness in addition to the cutest face that possesses a super “Aww!” power.
This high voltage, gloomy adorability earned the bulldogs, French and English alike an honorable spot in the popular images gallery and especially on the boys’ related merchandise. We have compiled this canine adorned and inspired selection to celebrate boys and bulldogs.
He is the sweetest puppy everyone is cooing over but mess with him and you will see a tough guy who means business: Mohawk, eye patch, crossed swords . . . Watch out!

J. Crew’s bulldog wearing a Santa hat is too cute to resist! We gladly will grab him as a gift! Appaman’s signature bulldog that propelled the company to the boys’ fashion stratosphere makes a mandatory appearance in the brand’s every collection. This year he is a tough guy in a grrrrr! mode. Wes and Willy’s version is sweet and melancholic.

Accessories sprinkled with bulldogs will be a sure hit with your little dog lover. Bulldogs make great pirates and pair well with crossed bones. The mean expression on the cartoonish mug of Tokidoki’s bulldog, yes Bastardino is his name, does not fool us. He is a goofball!

Not ready to commit to the real dog? Ward off his endless whining and begging with this cuddly, very naturalistic looking (down to the wrinkles!) plush buddy. Older boys will appreciate this musically inclined canine armed with the headphones and loads of coolness. His tough attitude and high-gloss shine will add a bite to his cave.

How about some puppy love for mommies? Delight iPhone wielding, French Bulldogs aficionado with the iPhone case featuring this impossibly cute pup with adorable bat-wing ears! Want to hear her squeal: “OMG! How cute!” – give her these bulldog print socks. Anyone could use an extra pair of socks. ALWAYS! To the serious bulldog fanatics we would recommend perpetuating their obsession in the wall décor. Z Gallery’s Bull Dog Giclee canvas with a crackle finish by Samantha Carlisle would do the job just fine.

We have left a sneak peek into Tom & Drew’s Spring/Summer 2012 collection for yummy dessert since as far as the obsession goes no one takes this bulldogs business more seriously than Tom & Drew, whose tagline "For the sake of boys and bulldogs” alongside the ubiquitous Bulldog logo says it all.
Company’s founder Alexia Panza and her family are English bulldog’s fanatics so it was a natural mascot choice. Expect to see bulldog inspired items in every collection. Beyond the aesthetic inspiration these lovely canines are the driving force behind Tom & Drew’s charitable work. The company had partnered with bulldog rescue that finds happy, loving homes for abandoned bulldogs. You can check out their website and available bulldogs here: http://www.rescuebulldogs.org/.
These styles and the rest of the collection favored by our beloved fashion icon Kingston Rossdale will be available in stores in February 2012.
