I see you raising your artfully plucked eyebrow (or creatively unplucked ones if you will)… Well, this blog is not just about how to dress little boys in style, it’s also about raising boys and living my life day by day: sometimes in style, sometimes not so much. And this also includes creative quick dinner solutions, my thoughts and opinions on various subjects and yes, iPhone applications. I am not a gadget honcho or a tech wiz, but I happen to know a few Moms who would need a surgical intervention should some Evil Force decide to separate them from their precious iPhones. Besides being a body extension, the iPhones have become our life managers, our libraries, our photo albums, our dictionaries, our junk drawer… our ever-present butler but without the eye rolling or disapproving sniffing.

Naturally zillion iPhone applications springing to life daily add to this addiction.  I rounded up some really awesome (in my opinion) applications that would work nicely with some aspects of modern Mom’s complex personalities and multitasking.

Chic-onomic Mom is the one who mastered the secrets of looking like a million dollars on a shoestring budget. The following four applications are right on spot aiding in juggling family finances, organizing closets and shopping.

Another grueling week is almost over and we are ready to relax by the fireplace gazing at the dancing flames and sipping chilled chardonnay, while the roasting something fills the air with mouthwatering aroma and Norah Jones purrs softly in the background. Sike! Sounds like Danielle Steele’s cheesy opus but why not? Really? We all could use some nice treatment, some love and a pop of color to spice up our life. So here you go!

It’s Friday again and weather shows no signs of improvement! Bone penetrating wind gusts, never ending snow… Gosh! Can’t wait to go back to my beloved LA, plop down on the plastic chair outside the Coffee Bean and do some serious chilling and relaxing of body and soul. Why do I bring up Coffee Bean all the time? Because I miss it, because Starbucks coffee can’t hold a candle to CB and they carry these apple shaped glass jars of surprise… apple juice! II will tear down the mountains and change the attitude towards the boys’ fashion. Speaking of changing the attitude, there is a little fashionista rebel out there who is doing exactly that with her tomboy chic style.

You all know my firm position on a gender appropriate colors' BS. Why aren't boys allowed to come anywhere near pink or purple, or even red or orange in especially severe cases of colorgenderphobia? Why is the public so disturbed by the lack of pink ruffles and neutral colors of Shiloh Joile-Pitt's tomboy clothes? So, why is Blue for Boys and Pink for Girls?
Recently I came across this brilliant post of Rachel Perls, which was a delightful revelation. Rachel Perls is a an Architectural Color Consultant and shares her passion for color on her blog Hue.

First of all, Happy Birthday to me (well, it was yesterday)! Happy Birthday to all fellow Pisces, mysteries, romantic and impossibly creative creatures.   I’ve been on a short hiatus due to my move back to warm and crazy LA! Queen of Pop Madonna is collaborating with Macy’s for a junior’s lifestyle collection inspired by her 13-year-old daughter Lourdes. The collection will include apparel, handbags, footwear, and jewelry with prices ranging from $12 to $40. Lourdes is said to be involved with the line, attending design meetings with Macy’s executives. The junior’s collection is expected to be available in stores around the time students are heading back to school.
But that isn’t all for Madonna. The legendary pop singer just inked a huge fashion deal that will allow her to have control in several existing brands and create her own brands. Her manager Guy Oseary and she have formed MG Icon with brand-management firm Iconix. The duo will own 50 percent stake in the company and Iconix, which owns labels like Candie’s, will own the other 50 percent.

This week had flown by and I am stunned it’s already Friday. It’s not that I haven’t collected colorful bits and pieces for your pleasant Friday reading. I have lots of fab finds to share with you. It’s just this neck-breaking speed of life that never ceases to amaze me. My son who was blowing bubbles just yesterday recites two-line long dinosaurs’ names, differentiating between herbivores and carnivores plans weekend dates with his girlfriends.

I would like to wish our fellow stylistas who celebrate the miraculous escape of Jewish people from enslavement in Egypt, very Happy and Healthy Passover. I wish you a happy Exodus from your personal Egypt. I am sure everybody has one.

First of all, Happy Easter to all our Christian friends!  As an important part of Easter celebration, Eggs Hunt is not to be taken lightly. The preparations, the excitement, big smiles, colorful eggs, cheering parents, beautiful clothes and the memories… Heartwarming memories captured in the pictures.

 

We had a blast last Sunday, watching our little treasures rushing about in an excited frenzy, searching for the eggs. We have followed all the tips of the professional photographer Rachel Hudgins posted in my last week’s Friday Kaleidoscope: Tried to take pictures before and after the hunt, placed ourselves strategically around the locations with the massive amounts of hidden eggs, hovered over the excited kids examining their baskets’ contents. I don’t think you need a degree in molecular physics to figure out I am obsessed with fashion, style, trends, design… though the main focus of my blog is on the boys fashion, I still need some soul food to satisfy my grownup fashion cravings. And I am not easy to please, guys!
